Constructed along Nigeria’s southern coast near Lagos, the facility initiated operations earlier this year with diesel and aviation fuel production, marking a pivotal step towards its broader objectives.
Central to the refinery’s promise is its potential to liberate Nigeria from longstanding reliance on fuel imports. Despite being Africa’s largest crude oil producer and ranked 15th globally, Nigeria needs help with operational inefficiencies in its government-owned refineries.

With a personal net worth of US$12.6 billion, Aliko Dangote has steered his conglomerate, Dangote Group, from the cement and sugar industries to this monumental undertaking in oil refining.
