Ghana is moving forward– Wonder Madilo credits Mahama for economic gains

A member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Communications Team, Wonder Madilo, has called on Ghanaians to applaud President Mahama for what he describes as significant economic gains and visible progress in the country.

Speaking on JoyNews AM Show on Monday, March 2, Mr Madilo said the President deserves commendation for steering the economy toward recovery after years of hardship.

“Love goes to Ghanaians for enduring so many eight years of trauma and challenges,” Wonder Madilo stated. “Today, you wake up knowing your country is back. The focus now is on creating the environment for young people to manifest their God-given talents and develop.”

He stressed that President Mahama’s leadership is centered on national interest rather than individual satisfaction.

“The President did not set out to give hope to any individual. He was elected to office for the good people of this country. The totality of Ghanaians is his focus — not just one person,” he said.

Mr Madilo argued that economic indicators show clear signs of improvement, particularly inflation and debt levels.

“They agree inflation has dropped. When it was around 54 percent, everybody was talking. Today it has come down significantly. Would you not applaud the President?” he asked.

He further pointed to improvements in the country’s debt-to-GDP ratio, insisting that Ghana is gradually rebounding.

“When the country was in so much debt, and today, we are bouncing back, would you not applaud the President?” he asked.

Addressing critics who argue that macroeconomic gains have not yet translated into improved personal incomes, he urged consistency in national discourse.

“They admit the economy is rebounding and there is visible progress, then they say it’s not reflecting in their pocket. We need to be fair. What is right is right, and what is wrong is wrong,” he stated.

Mr Madilo concluded by urging Ghanaians to rise above partisanship and show patriotism by acknowledging progress where it exists.

“We must be passionate about this country and appreciate the contributions of leaders when progress is being made,” he said.
