0 Black Stars right-back Caleb Yirenkyi has committed his future to Danish Superliga club FC Nordsjaelland, signing a new long-term contract that runs until the summer of 2030.
The 19-year-old, who broke into the senior team earlier this year, has quickly risen through the ranks to become one of Nordsjaelland’s most dependable players.
Since earning promotion in February, Yirenkyi has made over a dozen league appearances, including 12 this term contributing a goal and two assists.
“Through a fantastic mentality and hard work every single day, Caleb has undergone excellent development over the past year and established himself as one of the best midfielders in the Super League. Therefore, we have chosen to honor him with a new contract,” Club’s sporting director, Alexander Riget said.
“Over the past year, I have learned an incredible amount, and the coaches and my teammates always make sure I’m still learning something new every single day,” Yirenkyi said.
“I’m not a person who looks that far ahead, I’m taking it day by day,” he added.
On the international stage, the Ghanaian youngster has already earned six caps for the Black Stars and featured in the victories against the Central African Republic and Comoros during the final round of World Cup qualifiers.
As Ghana prepares for its upcoming Asian tour against Japan and South Korea, Yirenkyi is hopeful of maintaining his place in Otto Addo’s squad.
