GHANA’S medal ambitions at the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo now rest on the shoulders of high jumper Rose Yeboah, middle-distance star Alex Amankwah, rising sprinter Ibrahim Fuseini and the ever-reliable men’s 4x100m relay team,following a disappointing return in the men’s 100 metres.
National men’s 100m record holder Abdul-Rasheed Saminu saw his dream run come to an end yesterday after narrowly missing out on the final.The 21-year-old University of South Florida student clocked 10.08 seconds to place fourth in heat three of the semi-finals, finishing 12th overall.
