President John Dramani Mahama has announced that he has received a comprehensive report detailing cases of electoral violence from the 2020 and 2024 general elections.

He pledged that where wrongdoing is confirmed, perpetrators will be held accountable and victims will receive compensation.

President Mahama stress that this measure aligns with his commitment to reinforce democratic values and curb political violence in Ghana.

He signaled that prosecutorial decisions and victim compensation mechanisms will follow once the Attorney General finalizes his recommendations.

The report, compiled by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Dr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, outlines violent incidents in both election cycles — including shootings and clashes involving political supporters and security personnel. The findings have now been formally referred to the Attorney General, Dr. Dominic Ayine, for legal scrutiny and further action
