Ghanaian youngster Mawuli Mensah in line for official Real Betis debut

Ghanaian youngster Mawuli Mensah could make his official debut for Real Betis in their first game of the season on Monday night.

The midfielder has been called up for Real Betis’ league clash against Elche later today as they chase a strong start to the 2025/26 La Liga season.

The decision to call up the Ghanaian follows his impressive performances for the Seville club during their preparations for the new campaign.

Mawuli was heavily involved during Betis’ pre-season, impressing under the tutelage of Manuel Pellegrini.

The 21-year-old initially moved to Europe in 2022 from Ghanaian lower-tier side Shooting Stars, before being a regular feature for Betis’ youth team.

The combative midfielder suffered an injury which kept him out for quite a long time before making a return last season.

Mawuli will hope he gets minutes under his belt against Elche and be a mainstay in the first team.
