The Volta Regional Minister, during an emotionally charged vigil organised by the Volta Regional Coordinating Council in Ho, paid a glowing tribute to the eight distinguished Ghanaians who perished in last Wednesday’s tragic military helicopter crash.

The Minister described the incident as a “black Wednesday” that plunged the entire nation into mourning, noting that the loss was not only felt by their immediate families but by every Ghanaian who recognised their service, dedication, and contributions to national development.

“These are people we have worked with, some closely and others from afar, but all of them have left indelible marks on the country,” he said, recalling how only two weeks ago some of the victims had participated in an orientation for ministers of state, sharing their wealth of knowledge and experiences.

He further recounted how some, like Dr. Omane Boamah, had worked closely with political and electoral teams, using their professional expertise to shape policy and strengthen Ghana’s democratic processes. “Their loss has created a void that will be difficult to fill,” he added.
