Black Queens midfielder Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah has described goalkeeper Cynthia Konlan as “amazing” for making the win over Algeria “easy” for a spot in the semi-finals of the ongoing Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

Ghana secured a 4-2 penalty victory over the North Africans, as goallie Cynthia made two saves.

The triumph marked the Queens first qualification for the last four, for the first time since 2016.

“Amazing, I told the whole of Ghana to believe in us,” Chantelle said.

“We pushed it, we gave a couple of heart attacks but [the belief from everyone] pushed us through.

“Cynthia [goalkeeper] made it easy for us. She put us ahead by saving. In my eyes, a goalkeeper should never save a penalty. She did amazing and we are grateful we’ve got her in goal.”

Ghana will now face hosts nation Morocco in the semis on July 22, aiming to sectors a spot in the final.
