The Ghana Police Service has moved to correct earlier reports suggesting that arrests had been made in connection with a fire outbreak at the Accra Central Police Barracks.
In a press release dated June 4, 2026, the Regional Public Affairs Unit clarified that no arrests have been made at this stage of the investigation.
The statement, signed by Superintendent Juliana Obeng, Head of Public Affairs for the Accra Region, urges the public to disregard earlier claims.

Authorities have confirmed that there were no fatalities resulting from the incident.
However, one fire officer who sustained injuries during firefighting operations is currently receiving treatment at the Police Hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.

The cause of the fire remains unknown, as investigations are still underway.
The Police Command commended the Ghana National Fire Service and all personnel working to contain the situation and ensure safety at the scene.

Further updates will be provided as investigations continue.
