Accra, Nov. 04, GNA – The Africa Monologue Challenge (AMC) is set to make a major continental statement, as four of its standout cultural ambassadors take the stage at CANEX WKND 2026 in Lagos, Nigeria, on November 6th.

The four performers, Jeromy Mumba (Zambia, Season 1 First Runner-Up), Maud Guerrard (Côte d’Ivoire, Season 2 Winner), William Lamptey (Ghana, Season 3 Winner), and Douglas Mwenda Nyaga (Kenya, Season 3 First Runner-Up), will premiere an original 20-minute theatrical experience.

This world premiere marks a significant milestone for the AMC, as it transitions from a competition and cultural exchange platform to a major contributor to Africa’s creative economy on a global stage.

The piece was developed exclusively for the CANEX stage, designed to challenge, inspire, and captivate an audience of African leaders, global investors, and creative pioneers.

The theatrical piece features an original story and screenplay crafted exclusively by members of the African Chamber of Content Producers (ACCP) for the AMC.

It is rooted in the core mission of the AMC and the ACCP: to unite Africa’s creative economy as soft power, project a positive narrative of the continent, and champion intra-African trade and serves as a powerful artistic bridge connecting Africa’s historical struggles for liberation to its future as a unified global powerhouse.

Speaking ahead of the performance, Harold Roger Quartey, the Chairman of the AMC Season three Organising Committee and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bombo Investments, emphasised the significance of the occasion.

“This performance is a defining moment for the African creative economy. For years, we have spoken about the need for Africa to trade among itself and to tell its own stories. This theatrical experience takes those conversations from the boardroom to the global stage. It captures the essence of our journey and the urgent need to fuel our own future,” he said.

The CANEX performance follows the highly successful completion of AMC Season three in Ghana, which saw William Lamptey of Ghana crowned as the winner.

The 12 cultural ambassadors from across the continent and the diaspora recently concluded a month-long residency at the Nouvelle Place, Pan-African House in Accra, where they engaged in cultural exchange, intra-African trade negotiations, and professional masterclasses.

Mawuko Kuadzi, the Co-Founder and CEO of the AMC and MK Casting, noted that the transition to the CANEX stage marked a new chapter for the initiative.

“What began as a platform to discover acting talent has evolved into a movement for Pan-African integration. To have our alumni, winners and cultural ambassadors from different seasons stand together at CANEX is a true reflection of the network we are building. They are representing the best of Africa’s creative talent, and they are doing so on a stage that connects our past to our future, Kuadzi said.

The performance challenges the status quo and highlights the power of the creative economy to drive trade and unity.

Nana Dwomoh-Doyen Benjamin, the President of the ACCP and Co-Founder of the AMC, spoke on the intellectual foundation of the piece.

He said the story and playwright had captured the essence of the ‘One Voice’ concept,” explaining that Africa’s greatest challenge was not a lack of resources, but a lack of unity.

“The performance uses the power of the monologue to show that when we speak with one mind, we can bypass the external systems that have held us back and this will be a defining moment for the creative economy at CANEX,” he said.

The four performers will travel to Lagos as part of a nine-person AMC delegation, supported by Red Flag Media and the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) and the performance is scheduled for Friday, November 6th, 2026, at the CANEX WKND Summit.

The Africa Monologue Challenge is an annual pan-African performing arts competition and cultural exchange project and it rotates host countries, beginning in Ghana (Season 1), moving to Uganda (Season 2), and returning to Ghana for Season 3.

The AMC unites Africa’s creative economy, projects a positive narrative of the continent, and celebrates Pan-African culture through storytelling, co-founded by MK Casting, Ghana’s premier Casting company and the African Chamber of Content Producers, an accredited CSO of the AU-ECOSSOC, with institutional support from the National Film Authority of Ghana and the Ghana Tourism Authority.
