Accra Hearts of Oak produced a stunning performance yesterday to defeat league champions Medeama SC 4-2 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The victory marked Hearts of Oak’s first home win in seven matches and ensured they finished the season on a high note in third place with 54 points.
The Phobians made a bright start to the game and needed just four minutes to break the deadlock through Hamza Issa, who finished brilliantly after a well-worked team move.

Hearts maintained their advantage until halftime and returned from the break with renewed determination, continuing to dominate possession and create chances.
Their efforts paid off in the 57th minute when Mawuli doubled the lead to put the home side firmly in control of the encounter.
Medeama SC responded positively and reduced the deficit in the 63rd minute to revive hopes of a comeback.
However, Hearts restored their two-goal cushion in the 78th minute before Wayo added the fourth goal in the 85th minute, sending the home supporters into wild celebrations.
The champions managed to grab a consolation goal just before full time, but it was not enough to prevent Hearts from securing an emphatic victory in their final game of the season.
