Korean teams are scheduled to compete in nine different categories in the upcoming Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games in Japan this year, with T1’s star player Faker set to compete in the League of Legends (LoL) category once again, the Korea e-Sports Association said Monday. Faker is set to represent Korea in the LoL category with Keria from T1, Zeus and Gumayusi of Hanwha Life Esports, and Canyon from Gen. G, in the upcoming sports event taking place in September, according to the association. The final candidate list will put Faker in the running for his second Asian Games gold medal, following his victory at the Hangzhou Asia Games in 2023. A total of 11 categories will be featured in this year’s Asian Games’ e-sports division. Korea will compete in nine categories, including PUBG mobile, a popular multiplayer “battle royale” game, and Grand Turismo 7, a simulation racing game.
