President John Dramani Mahama has reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to achieving universal electricity access across Ghana.
Speaking during the 2026 State of the Nation Address (SONA) in Parliament on Friday, 27 February, President Mahama said expanding reliable and affordable power remains a central priority in the government’s development agenda.
“We’re committed to ensuring that every Ghanaian has access to electricity,” he declared.
The President highlighted that ongoing investments in power generation, transmission, and distribution infrastructure are aimed at improving supply stability, particularly in underserved and rural communities.
Broadening electricity access, he noted, is critical for industrial growth, job creation, and enhanced living standards. President Mahama assured that the government will continue working to close the remaining gaps and ensure nationwide coverage.
