0 The 2026 edition of the Luv FM Primary Schools Quiz has been launched in Kumasi, marking the beginning of an exciting academic contest among primary schools in the Ashanti Region.
The contest underscores Luv FM’s dedication to promoting academic excellence and cultural appreciation.
This year’s edition of the Luv Fm Primary Schools Quiz, the seventh since its inception, promises to be the biggest yet, with 36 schools in the competition.
The competing schools include defending champions, Matta Devi School, vying for the coveted title of Best Primary School in the Ashanti Region.
The launch event saw contesting schools balloting for spaces, setting the stage for weeks of spirited academic rivalry.
The event brought together educators, students, contestants, sponsors and community leaders who came together to celebrate the value of education.
Ashanti Regional Chairman of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA), Kofi Adu Domfeh, speaking at the event, urged contestants to acquaint themselves with the Akan culture.

“Even at this level, it’s still a learning point for us. I’m looking forward to learning most of the pronunciation and the excellence in some of the things we do, especially with the Akan side of the contest. That is an area in which some of the Montessori schools are found wanting. But for me, being in Ashanti, you should be able to uphold your culture,” he said.
Relationships Manager at Luv Fm, Maxwell Frimpong-Manso, in his address at the event acknowledged the various schools for their participation.
“This educational contest has over the years experienced exciting growth as new schools keep signing up to audition to compete. We appreciate all schools that qualified after the audition to contest in this edition,” he said.
He further urged the contestants to give their best in the contest. “In the coming weeks, the contesting pupils and schools in the Quiz are expected to offer our audience an exciting and intellectually stimulating show of prowess in competing,” he added.
The coach of Matta Devi School, Osei Prempeh, highlighted the positive impact the quiz has had on their students and commended Luv FM for its continued commitment to educational development.
“The quiz has increased the knowledge scope of the students. It has increased our enrolment because of the mileage we had in the competition last year, especially. They are doing a great job,” he added.
Several new schools entering the competition expressed their anticipation for fresh talent and spirited performances.
“I am so prepared for the contest, one hundred per cent prepared. I want my opponents to have the best time of their lives, so should we,” one contestant remarked.
Over the next six weeks, the 36 participating schools will compete in groups of three, showcasing their knowledge across various subjects.
The Luv FM Primary Schools Quiz will be broadcast live on the Joy Learning Platform on MultiTV, Luv FM, and other social media platforms starting Monday, February 23, 2026.
