Johnson Asiedu Nketia, Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has urged cocoa farmers in Ghana to hold the previous government accountable for the ongoing cocoa crisis, which has led to falling cocoa prices.

President John Mahama, he noted, had established a committee to investigate issues in the cocoa sector, promising that Ghanaians would soon see the consequences of the previous administration’s decisions.

Mr Asiedu Nketia made the call during a thank-you tour in the Twifo Atti-Morkwa of the Central Region.

He urged farmers to remain patient, noting that the current NDC government has prudent policies for them.

Central Regional NDC Chairman, Mr Richard Kofi Asiedu, encouraged the people to continue supporting the NDC in the next election.

The two visited various constituencies in the region to express gratitude for their strong voter turnout in the 2024 general elections.

The District Chief Executive for Twifo-Atti-Mokwa, Isaac Yawson, said the government would not overlook development in the Central Region, noting the imminent completion of two legacy projects, including a school building and market stores initiated by the previous administration in the area.
