Ghana will head into the World Table Tennis Championships in April with confidence and determination, ready to test its strength against some of the world’s finest.
Drawn into a challenging group, the national team views the competition not as a hurdle, but as an opportunity to showcase its growth, discipline, and ambition on the global stage.
Preparations have been intense, with the players committed to representing the nation with pride and purpose.

Ghana has been drawn alongside Puerto Rico, Austria, and Angola in a group that promises exciting and demanding encounters.
Puerto Rico features Adriana Díaz and her sisters, Melanie and Fabiola, while Austria will be led by experienced campaigner Sofia Polcanova.
Angola, one of Africa’s most consistent table tennis nations, brings continental pedigree and international experience, adding further quality to the group.
For Ghana, the focus remains firmly inward. The team captain shared in a recent interview that preparations have centered on fitness, technique, and mental toughness, as the players brace themselves for elite-level opposition.
“We know the competition will be tough, especially against players like Adriana Díaz and Sofia Polcanova, but our team is united, and we are determined to give our best in every match,” said Cynthia Kwabi.
With disciplined training and a clear strategy, Ghana aims not just to compete but to leave a mark at the championship in London.
Reacting to the draw, Technical Director Charles Tachie-Menson said: “Our group is not an easy one, but table tennis can spring surprises. We just need to urge and psych the players to face any opponent, regardless of names. We do not just want to go and participate; we want to do well and leave a mark.”
On the preparation of the Black Loopers for the championship, he added “We have a well-laid-out preparational plan. We will be taking the players to China for a training tour to ensure they are in peak shape for the championship.”
Fans across the country are eagerly awaiting the tournament, hopeful of seeing the national team rise to the occasion and demonstrate skill, resilience, and the true spirit of Ghanaian table tennis as they step onto the world stage to challenge some of the best players in the sport.
