0 The ‘Golden Era’ of music reclaimed its throne last night as hundreds of fans descended upon the Pleasant Gardens in Dzorwulu for the 2026 edition of Joy FM’s 90’s Jam.
In what has become the definitive post-New Year celebration in the capital, the event was a resounding success, boasting a sold-out crowd that pushed the venue to its absolute limit.
From the first beat dropped by the legendary DJ Black, it was clear that the appetite for the 90s, a decade defined by groove, attitude, and unforgettable lyrics, remains insatiable.
The icing on the cake was MP for Ofoase-Ayirebi, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, a former staff member of Joy FM, who appeared as a guest DJ for the night.
The venue was packed to capacity, with latecomers finding the car park full as hordes of music lovers filled every inch of the dancing floor.

One standout attendee captured the essence of 1990s urban cool, sporting a quintessential ensemble: a vibrant, vertically striped button-down shirt layered over a crisp white tee, paired with oversized khaki cargo shorts.
The look was completed with knee-high white socks, a signature red bandana, and classic dark shades—a perfect homage to the era of The Fresh Prince and early Hip-hop icons.

While over 15 exclusive cabanas were sold out days in advance, the expanded dancing space allowed the hordes of fans to Harlem Shake, Tootsie Roll, Crack, Crip Walk and Dutty Wine without restriction.
The star-studded entertainment roster kept the energy at a fever pitch.
DJ Black, the ‘Master of the Decks’, delivered a seamless marathon of anthems. Lexis Bill & Nii Ayi Tagoe provided the high-energy hype that kept the crowd engaged until the break of dawn, and Kofi Hayford added his unique charisma to the proceedings, ensuring the Joy FM spirit was felt in every corner of the gardens.
