Former CSA boss says he was politically insulated to do his job

Former Director-General of the Cyber Security Authority (CSA), Dr. Albert Antwi-Boasiako has emphasised that his tenure at the agency was free from political pressure, allowing him to carry out his duties professionally.

Speaking on JoyNews’ The Law, Dr. Antwi-Boasiako revealed that he was largely free from political interference during his tenure, allowing him to carry out his responsibilities with professional autonomy.

“Politically, I think I was insulated. I didn’t have any sort of push from the former president or Madam Ursula. I think she knew me if I am doing my job, I am doing my job. I am a professional, and I got in there as a professional. I think she allowed me that space to work,” he said.

The former CSA chief added that his independence extended beyond the ruling party.

“Politically, I don’t think I had many issues. In fact, I had clearance to engage the opposition. I think the current minister will tell you, if he has the opportunity, I did have support across the political divide,” he said.
