Black Stars midfielder Kwasi Sibo is confident about the team\u2019s chances of achieving \u201cbig\u201d things at the 2026 World Cup.<\/p>\n

The team sealed qualification for the global showpiece for the fifth time after topping Group I with 25 points.<\/p>\n

Ghana\u2019s best performance at the tournament came in 2010, when they reached the quarter-finals, only to be eliminated painfully by Uruguay on penalties.<\/p>\n

The Black Stars, however, have failed to progress beyond the group stages in their last two appearances.<\/p>\n

Sibo believes the story will be different this time.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis team can really achieve big in the World Cup,\u201d Sibo told JoySports.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe [players] I\u2019ve trained with are doing well at their various clubs in Europe.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis team is more united and when a team is united, it\u2019s really hard to beat. We\u2019re all together, making jokes, and that makes a team really strong.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sibo, who earned a late call-up following Elisha Owusu\u2019s suspension and Ibrahim Sulemana\u2019s injury during September\u2019s international break, has since cemented his place in the squad.<\/p>\n

The 27-year-old partnered Thomas Partey in midfield as Ghana recorded back-to-back wins over the Central African Republic and Comoros in the final round of qualifiers.<\/p>\n

The Real Oviedo midfielder hopes to be part of the squad for November\u2019s Asian tour against Japan and South Korea as part of preparations for next year\u2019s World Cup.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
