The Minister of Energy and Green Transition, Dr John Abdulai Jinapor, paid an official visit to the head office of the Petroleum Hub Development Corporation (PHDC) in Accra on Tuesday, October 21.<\/p>\n

The visit was part of his familiarisation tour of agencies under the Ministry.<\/p>\n

The visit provided an opportunity for the Minister to engage with the management and staff of the Corporation while reaffirming the government\u2019s strong commitment to the successful implementation of the Petroleum Hub project\u2014one of Ghana\u2019s most ambitious initiatives in the energy sector.<\/p>\n

In his address, Dr Jinapor emphasised the strategic importance of the PHDC and the Petroleum Hub project to Ghana\u2019s energy future and economic transformation.<\/p>\n

He explained that the Corporation was established to attract significant investment into the petroleum value chain and assured the management and staff of the Ministry\u2019s full support in fulfilling this mandate.<\/p>\n

The Minister encouraged staff to uphold professionalism, remain apolitical in the execution of their duties, and embrace innovation and dedication\u2014qualities he described as essential to making the Hub attractive to global investors.<\/p>\n

On the issues of feasibility and scalability of the project, Dr Jinapor noted that further stakeholder engagements would be undertaken to address any outstanding concerns, with the objective of ensuring a smooth and successful rollout.<\/p>\n

Welcoming the Minister, the Acting Chief Executive Officer of PHDC, Dr Toni Aubynn, expressed appreciation for the visit, noting that the Minister\u2019s presence and assurances would inspire confidence and renewed commitment among the staff.<\/p>\n

Dr Aubynn described the Petroleum Hub project as both ambitious and transformative, citing global examples from Singapore and the Netherlands to highlight its potential impact.<\/p>\n

He referenced Malaysia\u2019s Petroleum Hub, which created over 80,000 jobs in its first phase, to illustrate the employment and economic benefits the project could deliver for Ghana, particularly the youth of Jomoro and beyond.<\/p>\n

In his closing remarks, the Deputy CEO for Operations and Technical, Mr Onasis Rosely, expressed gratitude for the Minister\u2019s visit and pledged that tangible progress would be evident ahead of the next engagement.<\/p>\n

Also present at the meeting were the Deputy CEO for Finance and Administration, Ms Halimatu Sadia Abdulai, as well as directors and senior management of the Corporation.<\/p>\n

The Minister was accompanied by a delegation from the Ministry including Ing.<\/p>\n

Sulemana Abubakar, Acting Director for Power; Dr Yusif Sulemana, Technical Advisor; Mr Richmond Rockson, Esq., Spokesperson and Director of Communication; and other officials.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
