The Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC) will begin conducting its licensing examinations through a computer-based testing (CBT) system starting October 2025, marking a major shift from the traditional paper-based format.<\/p>\n

In a statement signed by the Registrar, Dr. Shirazu Issahaku, and issued in Accra, the Council said the new system aims to enhance efficiency, fairness, and security in the examination process.<\/p>\n

According to the AHPC, the digital transition will allow candidates to take their exams on a secure computer platform designed to produce faster results, minimise human error, and strengthen the integrity of the licensing process.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s the same examination in terms of content and standards, but delivered through a secure digital platform,\u201d the statement said. \u201cQuestions appear on screen, and candidates input their answers using the computer.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Dr. Issahaku explained that adopting the CBT model aligns Ghana\u2019s licensing framework with global best practices in health professional assessment.<\/p>\n

The Council emphasised that the change will not alter the scope or difficulty of the examination but will make the process more transparent and efficient.<\/p>\n

All graduates of accredited Allied Health training institutions who meet the Council\u2019s eligibility requirements can sit for the new computer-based exam.<\/p>\n

The AHPC further clarified that the licensing examination will follow a fixed annual schedule, with the main examination in October and a supplementary session for candidates who need to retake papers. Details of examination dates and venues will be published on the Council\u2019s official website and social media pages.<\/p>\n

The Council assured candidates and training institutions of a smooth transition, noting that practice tools and orientation materials will be made available ahead of the first sitting.<\/p>\n
