President John Mahama on Monday, October 20 held a high-level meeting with the Chief Justice, the Attorney-General, and the Auditor-General to deliberate on measures aimed at strengthening the enforcement of findings contained in the Auditor-General\u2019s Report.<\/p>\n

According a statement issued on October 20, the meeting concluded with a landmark agreement: special courts will be designated specifically to handle cases emanating from audit infractions, including the enforcement of surcharges, disallowances, and the prosecution of related criminal offences.<\/p>\n

This development signals a renewed governmental commitment to combating financial mismanagement and improving fiscal discipline within public institutions.<\/p>\n

The creation of audit-specific courts is expected to accelerate legal proceedings involving individuals or entities found culpable in the misuse of public funds. <\/p>\n
