Former Health Minister Dr. Bernard Okoe-Boye has called on the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) to outline its clear plans for continuing the Agenda 111 projects.<\/p>\n

Speaking in an interview on\u00a0Adom FM\u2019s Dwaso Nsem<\/em><\/strong>, Dr. Okoe-Boye emphasised that while the NDC government\u2019s decision to conduct an audit of the project is not out of place, Ghanaians deserve transparency regarding the next steps.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe previous NPP government was committed to the Agenda 111 project, but we couldn\u2019t finish before losing the 2024 election. Now, after nine months in government, all the NDC is telling us is that they are auditing the project. That\u2019s fine, but based on our history, sometimes audits become an excuse to delay or abandon projects entirely,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The former Ledzokuku MP noted that the NDC\u2019s claim that the former government left no funds for the project was misleading.<\/p>\n

He acknowledged, however, that completing the initiative would require significant investment.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey are saying we need about \u20b51.9 billion to complete it, which is a lot of money,\u201d he said. \u201cBut they can devise a strategy; they don\u2019t need to raise all that at once. They can work in phases, complete 30 facilities or so, and gradually get the rest done.\u201d<\/p>\n

He urged the government to prioritise transparency and communication to assure citizens that the much-anticipated project remains a national priority.<\/p>\n

The Agenda 111 project, launched under the Akufo-Addo-led government in 2021, aimed to construct district, regional, and specialized hospitals nationwide to improve healthcare delivery and accessibility.<\/p>\n

While several sites reached various stages of completion before the 2024 general election, the change in government has since raised questions about the project\u2019s future direction.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
