Bawa-Rock Ltd, a gold trading and mining company based in Obuasi and owned by Alhaji Rasheed Bawa Namoro, has made a series of donations totaling GH\u00a2250,000 to improve education and healthcare in the municipality. <\/p>\n

The donations were made on Wednesday, October 15, and reaffirmed the company\u2019s long-standing commitment to the development of Obuasi and its surrounding communities.<\/p>\n

As part of the initiative, Bawa-Rock Ltd donated GH\u00a2100,000 to the Galaxy Foundation to support its ongoing free surgical operations for underprivileged patients in Obuasi and nearby areas. <\/p>\n

The Executive Director of the Foundation, David Hagan, expressed profound gratitude to the company, describing the donation as \u201ca life-saving intervention that will restore hope to hundreds of underprivileged individuals in need of critical medical attention.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the area of education, the company presented various items valued at GH\u00a230,000 to the Obuasi Municipal Education Directorate to support the 2025 Best Teacher Awards. <\/p>\n

The items included a 65-inch television, a gas cooker with oven, deep fryers, juicers, a blender, a microwave, and an electric kettle\u2014all aimed at recognising and rewarding outstanding teachers in the municipality.<\/p>\n

Additionally, Bawa-Rock Ltd refurbished the computer laboratory at Boete M\/A JHS \u2018B\u2019 in the Obuasi East Municipality and supplied it with 15 brand-new desktop computers and new furniture to enhance ICT teaching and learning.<\/p>\n

The headmaster of Boete M\/A JHS \u2018B\u2019, Emmanuel Karikari, thanked the company for its timely intervention, noting that the school had been struggling to provide students with practical computer lessons due to a lack of equipment.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis gesture will go a long way to improve ICT education in our school and prepare our students for the digital age,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The Obuasi Municipal Director of Education, Alfred Koomson, also expressed appreciation to Bawa-Rock Ltd., commending the company for its continuous support for education in the area. <\/p>\n

He urged other corporate organizations operating in Obuasi to emulate their example by investing in the development of the communities in which they operate.<\/p>\n

The presentations were made on behalf of the company by Eric Addae Boateng, the Business Development and Sustainability Lead at Bawa-Rock Ltd. He reiterated the company\u2019s commitment to contributing to social and community development as part of its core business operations.<\/p>\n
