Paramount Chief and President of the Ave-Dakpa\u00a0Traditional Council, Togbui Nyamekor Glakpe\u00a0V, has advised the NDC National Chairman, Mr. Johnson\u00a0Asiedu\u00a0Nketia, to caution government appointees and ministers to work in line with the President\u2019s vision.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He said Ghanaians had learned\u00a0lessons from past governments and would no longer tolerate appointees who abandon their responsibilities to chase personal gains.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cOur people are\u00a0watching it. Those appointed must know they are there to serve, not to act as bosses or divert development funds for their\u00a0own use,\u201d\u00a0Togbui\u00a0Glakpe\u00a0stated.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u00a0don\u2019t\u00a0want a situation where monies\u00a0for\u00a0projects\u00a0end\u00a0up in people\u2019s\u00a0pockets\u00a0for campaign purposes. When that happens, yes, they may keep the money, but we will also vote them out,\u201d he cautioned.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The chief made the remarks during Mr.\u00a0Asiedu\u00a0Nketia\u2019s\u00a0Thank You Tour at Ave-Dakpa\u00a0in the\u00a0Akatsi\u00a0North District of the Volta Region on Wednesday, October 15.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Togbui\u00a0Glakpe\u00a0emphasised\u00a0that Ghanaians\u00a0desire\u00a0genuine development and that when leaders deliver on their mandates, the entire nation benefits.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In his response, Mr.\u00a0Asiedu\u00a0Nketia\u00a0thanked the chief for his frank advice and assured him that the NDC leadership\u00a0remained\u00a0committed to accountability and responsible governance.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen you are given responsibility, you must remember that one day you\u00a0will account for it,\u201d he said.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s\u00a0why we are holding former government officials accountable for every pesewa spent. We know when we do that to them, they will do the same to us\u2014but we are ready because we will not\u00a0waste the nation\u2019s resources.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Mr.\u00a0Asiedu\u00a0Nketia\u00a0also urged party members to remain loyal despite any perceived\u00a0shortcomings in appointments.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cNo one is perfect. If you think you were better qualified for a position but were not chosen, take it in good faith and continue to serve the\u00a0party faithfully,\u201d he appealed.\u00a0<\/p>\n

District Chief Executive (DCE) for\u00a0Akatsi\u00a0North, Mr. Bless\u00a0Kojo\u00a0Katamani, said the government is\u00a0delivering\u00a0its promises in areas such as the economy, infrastructure, and social amenities.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

He said that as part of the Big Push initiative, work had begun on the Ho\u2013Aflao\u00a0road; other key roads in the district\u2014including the Ave-Dakpa\u2013Ave-Vi\u2013Akatsi\u00a0and Ave-Afiadenyigba\u2013Akatsi\u00a0routes\u2014would soon be constructed.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He added that potable water had been extended to eight communities, and the new market building started during Mr. James\u00a0Gunu\u2019s\u00a0tenure as DCE would be commissioned in the coming weeks.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Volta Regional Vice\u00a0Chairman\u00a0of the NDC, Mr. Egypt\u00a0Kwabla\u00a0Kudoto, expressed appreciation to the people of the district for their sacrifices and continued loyalty during voter registration and the general elections.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
