MagMina Foundation, an Accra-based NGO dedicated to supporting underserved schools and clinics in deprived communities across Ghana, has donated four projectors to the Sacred Heart Senior High School (SAHESS) at Nsoatre in the Bono Region. <\/p>\n

The gesture is to help the school overcome challenges in delivering effective ICT teaching and learning.<\/p>\n

The donation follows an appeal made during the school\u2019s 47th anniversary and Speech Day, where the school requested support to enhance STEAM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics).<\/p>\n

Presenting the projectors, Rosemary Mroba Gaisie, a Director of MagMina Foundation and an alumna of SAHESS, said the initiative represents \u201cnot just the fulfilment of a promise, but also MagMina Foundation\u2019s contribution to improving ICT training and skills acquisition, which are crucial in today\u2019s technology-driven world.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added, \u201cBy this little gesture of ours, we share in the vision of Ghana\u2019s first female Vice President, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang \u2014 not just opening the door, but holding it open for others in the pursuit of excellence.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ms. Gaisie noted that the donation aligns with the foundation\u2019s mission to support schools, hospitals, and clinics in deprived communities and to assist students and patients where needed.<\/p>\n

Receiving the equipment, Rev. Sr. Benedicta Uzokwe, Headmistress of SAHESS, expressed gratitude to the foundation\u2019s Board of Directors \u2014 Ms. Angelina A. Yeboah and Ms. Rosemary M. Gaisie \u2014 and the Gaisie family, noting that \u201cthe original promise was to donate one projector, but it was increased to four.\u201d<\/p>\n

She explained that the school introduced Elective ICT in 2018 with ten students, all of whom achieved 100% credit passes in the 2021 WASSCE. <\/p>\n

\u201cThis year, we have about 110 students taking the course, but we lack the required equipment for effective teaching and learning,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith the new curriculum, it will be necessary to have projectors in every classroom to make teaching easier and improve learning outcomes, ensuring that learners are technologically equipped for the 21st-century job market,\u201d she added, assuring that the devices would be well-maintained and properly utilised.<\/p>\n

Msgr. Joseph Marfo-Gyimah, from the Justice and Peace Commission of the Catholic Diocese of Sunyani, who played a key role in Ms Gaisie\u2019s admission to SAHESS in 1989, praised her and the MagMina Foundation for their generosity and urged other old students to emulate the gesture.<\/p>\n

The event was also attended by the Kontire Baapanin of Ejisu-Besease, Nana Yaa Aninwaa Bodom (Mrs. Wilhemina Ansah-Abrokwah, mother of Ms Gaisie), as well as SRC representatives and members of the school community.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
