The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has confirmed 26 new cases of Mpox as of October 10, pushing Ghana\u2019s total number of confirmed infections to 713.<\/p>\n

In its latest update, the Service said three patients are currently receiving treatment at health facilities, while the death toll remains unchanged at three.<\/p>\n

This comes just days after 17 new cases were recorded on October 7, raising the figure to 687.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe public must remain vigilant and adhere strictly to personal hygiene and preventive measures to help stop the spread of the disease,\u201d the GHS advised.<\/p>\n

Health officials explained that Mpox, spreads primarily through close contact with an infected person.<\/p>\n

Common symptoms include fever, rash, headache, muscle aches, swollen lymph nodes, chills, and tiredness.<\/p>\n

The GHS has urged anyone who develops these symptoms to immediately report to the nearest health facility for testing and treatment.<\/p>\n

The Service also reiterated its commitment to working with regional health directorates and other partners to monitor the situation closely and strengthen the country\u2019s response to the outbreak.<\/p>\n

Ghana first recorded Mpox cases in 2022, and the disease has since continued to resurface in several parts of the country, with health authorities calling for heightened public awareness\u00a0and\u00a0caution.<\/p>\n
