FIFA President Gianni Infantino has lauded the Ghanaian football fans for the colour, passion, and energy they bring to the global stage.<\/p>\n

Expressing excitement over the Black Stars\u2019 return to the FIFA World Cup, Infantino said the team has the potential replicate their historic 2010 quarter-final feat.<\/p>\n

In a video message following Ghana\u2019s 1\u20130 victory over Comoros in Accra on Sunday, which sealed the country\u2019s qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the United States, Infantino commended both the players and their supporters for what he described as a defining moment for Ghana and Africa.<\/p>\n

\u201cCongratulations to the Black Stars on reaching the FIFA World Cup for the fifth time in history,\u201d Infantino said.<\/p>\n

\u201cYour fans will bring color, style and passion to the greatest FIFA World Cup ever in 2026 in Canada, Mexico and the United States.\u201d<\/p>\n

The FIFA President highlighted the unique atmosphere Ghanaian fans bring to global football, noting that their unwavering enthusiasm has always enriched the World Cup experience.<\/p>\n

He said the world looks forward to seeing that same spirit come alive once again in North America.<\/p>\n

He further expressed hope that the Black Stars will deliver another memorable campaign reminiscent of the team\u2019s celebrated 2010 run in South Africa, when Ghana became only the third African nation to reach the quarter-finals of the competition.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe expect that your team will establish more global stars to follow in the footsteps of the famous team that made the quarter-finals of the tournament in South Africa in 2010,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Ghana\u2019s qualification marks their fifth World Cup appearance after debuting in 2006.<\/p>\n
