Asante Gold Bibiani Limited (AGBL) has handed over a newly-renovated mortuary facility to the Bibiani Government Hospital as part of its continued commitment to improving health infrastructure and promoting community well-being in its host communities.<\/p>\n

The renovation, fully funded by AGBL and its business partner, PW Mining, has transformed the previously dilapidated mortuary into a modern, hygienic, and dignified facility that meets contemporary health and safety standards.<\/p>\n

The project included structural upgrades, improved drainage and ventilation systems, energy-efficient lighting, and installation of new refrigeration units to enhance body preservation.<\/p>\n

Separate family viewing rooms were also created to provide privacy and emotional comfort for bereaved families.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Ing. Samuel Kwesi Takyi, General Manager of AGBL, said the company undertook the renovation after observing the poor condition of the facility, which posed serious health risks to staff and compromised the dignity of the deceased.<\/p>\n

He reaffirmed AGBL\u2019s dedication to supporting quality healthcare delivery in the Bibiani area, adding that the company remains committed to further projects such as a proposed 100-bed capacity ward block to ease congestion at the hospital.<\/p>\n

Community Relations Manager, Emmanuel Aidoo, stressed that AGBL\u2019s partnership with the Ghana Health Service demonstrates the mine\u2019s belief that sustainable mining goes hand in hand with community development.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis project reflects our shared humanity and respect for life,\u201d he said. \u201cIt ensures that even in death, our people are treated with dignity.\u201d<\/p>\n

Medical Superintendent of the Bibiani Government Hospital, Dr. Akwasi Adu Gyamfi, expressed profound gratitude to AGBL and its business partner PW Ghana for the intervention, noting that the facility had long been in deplorable condition with only one functioning cold room and outdated equipment.<\/p>\n

He lauded the transformation, describing it as a major boost to the hospital\u2019s operational efficiency and morale.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
