Team Ghana wrapped up their campaign at the 2025 Africa Aquatics Zone 2 Championships with a total of 69 medals, as the three-day competition came to a close at the Borteyman Sports Complex in Accra.<\/p>\n

The host nation\u2019s Junior Team, made up of 12 swimmers, finished second overall with 43 medals, just behind Senegal, who topped the standings with 31 medals, including 11 golds (to Ghana\u2019s 10). Nigeria placed third with 32 medals, including 10 golds.<\/p>\n

In the individual junior awards, Benin\u2019s Lonnah Eliane Douillet was named Best Female Swimmer, winning seven medals (six gold).<\/p>\n

Ghana\u2019s Lea El Haj finished second with five medals (three gold), while compatriot Jada Yankey earned 11 medals (two gold) to claim third.<\/p>\n

Nigeria\u2019s Aidan Dumuje-Abilli was crowned Best Male Junior Swimmer after bagging eight medals (six gold). He was followed by Nael Lamine Vision from Senegal, who claimed seven medals (four gold), and Ghana\u2019s Kal-El Ntiamoah, who secured five medals (two gold).<\/p>\n

Tamba Akin Boamah, Yamin Amankwah Boamah, Michael Crabbe-Mann, Kal-El Ntiamoah, Andre Nimoh, Johnson Gyarko, Kwasi Frimpong, Oduma Aba Agyei, Jada Yankey, Mercedes Abdallah, Yemen Bozuma Cornie, Lea El Haj.<\/p>\n

In the Senior category, Ghana emerged as the best team with 26 medals \u2013 13 gold, 7 silver, and 6 bronze. Senegal came second with 36 medals, including 12 golds, while Benin placed third with 8 medals.<\/p>\n

Senegal\u2019s Oumy Diop was named Best Female Swimmer after winning 11 medals, nine of which were gold.<\/p>\n

Ghana\u2019s Joselle Mensah followed closely with five medals (three gold), while Noelie Lacour from Gabon earned 11 medals, including one gold.<\/p>\n

The Best Male Senior Swimmer award went to Harry Stacey of Ghana, who impressed with six medals, five of them gold. He was followed by Benin\u2019s Alexis Kpade (six medals, four gold) and Ghana\u2019s Abeku Jackson (five medals, four gold).<\/p>\n

The 2025 Africa Aquatics Zone 2 Championships, which began on October 3 and ended on October 5, brought together swimmers from 16 countries across West and Central Africa.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s edition marked the second consecutive time Ghana has hosted the continental event at the Borteyman Sports Complex.<\/p>\n

The competition also served as an official qualifying event for the World Aquatics Swimming Championships (25m), scheduled for Beijing in 2026.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
