Institute for Energy Policy and Research and member of the New Patriotic Party\u2019s (NPP) Communication Team, Kwadwo Poku, has defended the integrity of the government\u2019s Gold-for-Oil programme.<\/p>\n<p>He insisted that all participating companies were subjected to rigorous due diligence processes.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on\u00a0JoyNews\u2019 <em><strong>Newsfile<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0programme on Saturday, October 4, Mr Poku asserted that state institutions, including the Bank of Ghana and the Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC), played scandal<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cEverybody who took part in Gold-for-Oil went through proper due diligence,\u201d he stated. \u201cThe Bank of Ghana undertook what is called the KYC \u2014 Know Your Customer \u2014 and those companies were also sent to the FIC for them to basically screen these companies.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The remarks come in the wake of a report by policy think tank IMANI Africa, which alleges a GH\u00a27.2 billion leakage in the implementation of the
