Ghanaian rapper Obibini has expressed his frustration with the state of the music industry, describing it as \u201cfake\u201d and unfair to artistes.<\/p>\n

In an interview on\u00a0Daybreak Hitz<\/em>\u00a0with Doreen Avio and Kwame Dadzie, the rapper said the insincerity of key players in the industry has stifled Ghanaian rap and sidelined talents like himself.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe industry is fake, and I don\u2019t know what they expect from an artiste before giving them their due,\u201d he lamented.<\/p>\n

Obibini added that it was insulting that he has never won an award in his career, despite being recognised with nominations. He recalled being nominated twice in the Best Rap Performance category at the Telecel Ghana Music Awards but losing on both occasions.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have had two nominations but I just feel like it is a way they just want to tap me on the back and go like \u2018we see you\u2019. But I mean it\u2019s quite an insult for someone like me to be around now and then no award has been awarded to me. Because this is Obibini we are talking about. I am the Shakespeare of this thing,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The former Zylofon Music signee is known for songs such as\u00a0The Statement<\/em>,\u00a0Let Me Know<\/em>,\u00a0Ahye Me<\/em>featuring KiDi,\u00a0The Dream<\/em>,\u00a0Balenciagas<\/em>,\u00a0Get A Life<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Yes Dada<\/em>.<\/p>\n
