The Public Accounts Committee (PAC), in collaboration with the Auditor-General\u2019s Department, has announced the recovery of more than GH\u00a212.9 billion in misappropriated public funds.<\/p>\n

In recent weeks, the Committee has engaged officials from various ministries, departments, and agencies to address infractions highlighted in the 2024 Auditor-General\u2019s Report.<\/p>\n

Chairperson of the Committee, Abena Osei-Asare, speaking on Wednesday, October 1, attributed the substantial recovery to the Committee\u2019s close partnership with the Auditor-General\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n

She emphasised that promoting accountability remains a central priority of their work.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne thing I am clear about is that what we are doing is yielding positive results. We have a report we will look at. Per the work of the Public Accounts Committee, and with the support of the Auditor-General, we have been able to retrieve GH\u00a212.9 billion. There is a whole report on that which we will be sharing with the public at the right time,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

The Committee is scheduled to resume its sittings on October 27, 2025.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
