The spokesperson for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Dr Gideon Boako, has attributed the New Patriotic Party\u2019s (NPP) loss in the 2024 general election to the government\u2019s overall performance rather than the personal appeal or character of its presidential candidate.<\/p>\n

Speaking on Asempa FM\u2019s Ekosii Sen programme on Wednesday, October 1, Dr Boako, who also serves as the Member of Parliament for Tano North, said Ghanaians had voted based on their assessment of the NPP\u2019s stewardship rather than on the credibility of Dr Bawumia.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe lost the election because of the NPP\u2019s performance, not the personality of Dr Bawumia. He is a competent, trustworthy and selfless leader, but the electorate judged us collectively as a party in government,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

Dr Boako stressed that despite the defeat, Dr Bawumia\u2019s qualities remained intact and he\u2019s respected by many Ghanaians.<\/p>\n

He urged party supporters to remain united and reflective, adding that the lessons from the 2024 polls should shape the NPP\u2019s reorganisation and strategy going forward.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
