Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor, has assured international investors that President John Dramani Mahama is firmly committed to restoring confidence in the country\u2019s upstream petroleum sector.<\/p>\n

He gave the assurance during a meeting with executives of Chevron International Exploration and Production Limited at the African Energy Week in Cape Town.<\/p>\n

Mr Jinapor emphasised that Ghana is pursuing policies that guarantee transparency, stability, and accountability to attract long-term investment.<\/p>\n

\u201cPresident Mahama remains unwavering in his resolve to restore confidence in Ghana\u2019s upstream petroleum sector through sound policies and a clear regulatory framework,\u201d the minister said.<\/p>\n

The discussions with Chevron, led by the company\u2019s Director of Commercial, Chris Jablonski, centred on natural gas as a central pillar of Ghana\u2019s energy transition.<\/p>\n

Mr Jinapor underscored the government\u2019s goal of reducing dependence on liquid fossil fuels by prioritising natural gas as a cleaner, more cost-effective, and efficient energy source.<\/p>\n

\u201cGas will play a defining role in shaping Ghana\u2019s energy future,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n

Chevron\u2019s delegation included senior executives Gavin Lewis, Mamadou Blondin, and Chris Fordham.<\/p>\n

Both parties expressed optimism about strengthening partnerships to boost Ghana\u2019s upstream petroleum industry, support the country\u2019s energy transition, and accelerate long-term economic growth.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
