Ghana\u2019s Energy and Green Transition Minister, John Abdulai Jinapor, has held a \u201chighly productive\u201d meeting with executives of Chevron International Exploration and Production Limited on the sidelines of African Energy Week.<\/p>\n

The discussions focused on strengthening investment, transparency, and governance within Ghana\u2019s upstream petroleum sector.<\/p>\n

Led by Chevron\u2019s Director of Commercial, Chris Jablonski, the delegation explored opportunities to deepen collaboration, particularly in natural gas development.<\/p>\n

According to Mr Jinapor, the government under President John Dramani Mahama is prioritising natural gas as a cleaner and more efficient alternative to liquid fossil fuels.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are committed to reducing Ghana\u2019s overreliance on liquid fossil fuels by prioritising gas as a cleaner, more cost-effective, and efficient energy source,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Mr Jinapor further stressed the administration\u2019s commitment to investor confidence, assuring Chevron of a stable and transparent investment climate.<\/p>\n

\u201cPresident Mahama remains unwavering in his resolve to restore confidence in Ghana\u2019s upstream petroleum sector through sound policies and a clear regulatory framework,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Chevron\u2019s team included Gavin Lewis, Head of Chevron Exploration; Mamadou Blondin, Vice President for Middle East & Africa Corporate Affairs; and Chris Fordham, Business Development Manager.<\/p>\n

Both parties expressed optimism about building stronger partnerships to support Ghana\u2019s energy transition and long-term economic growth.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
