The University for Development Studies (UDS) has etched its name in history after winning the FISU World University Football Tournament.<\/p>\n

This follows their dramatic 2-1 victory over Brazil\u2019s Paulista University in the final on Sunday.<\/p>\n

The Ghanaian side had to dig deep after Gabriel Viera stunned them with a goal in the opening 30 seconds of the match.<\/p>\n

But UDS refused to bow out, with captain Mohammed Sulemana striking late in injury time to level the score.<\/p>\n

In extra time, Ezedeen Alhassan scored directly from a corner kick to seal a comeback to spark wild celebrations.<\/p>\n

UDS\u2019 journey to glory has been inspiring.<\/p>\n

After a tense semi-final clash with Spain\u2019s University of Granada ended goalless, the team held their nerve to triumph 5-4 on penalties, after heroics of goalkeeper Emmanuel Edo.<\/p>\n

The victory is also a defining moment for African university football, as they become the continent\u2019s first-ever winners of the prestigious competition<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
