Firefighters from the Metro Fire Station quickly brought under control an LPG cylinder fire near Sanbra Hotel at Adum, Kumasi in the Ashanti Region, after receiving a distress call at 06:30hrs on Wednesday, September 25, 2025.<\/p>\n

According to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), Led by Assistant Divisional Officer II (ADO II) Asamoah, a six-member team arrived within minutes to find one of seven shops ablaze. <\/p>\n

The crew promptly disconnected the power supply to the affected area before successfully extinguishing the fire by 06:42hrs.<\/p>\n

Preliminary investigations have revealed that the fire was caused by a leakage from an LPG cylinder which ignited when it came into contact with a nearby stove flame.<\/p>\n

The incident resulted in injuries to four civilians, with two sustaining minor injuries while two others remain in critical condition at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.<\/p>\n

In a statement shared on its Facebook page, the GNFS urged the public to strictly adhere to LPG safety measures to prevent such dangerous incidents in the future.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe public is reminded to exercise utmost caution when handling LPG cylinders and to ensure proper maintenance and use in order to avoid similar accidents,\u201d the GNFS stated.<\/p>\n

The swift response by the firefighters was instrumental in preventing the fire from spreading to neighbouring shops in the busy commercial area of Adum. <\/p>\n

The GNFS continues to advocate for increased public awareness and vigilance on LPG safety.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
