Accra, June 9, GNA \u2013 Ghana\u2019s home jersey for the 2026 FIFA World Cup has been ranked the best among all 48 participating nations in a global assessment by The Athletic, the sports publication owned by The New York Times.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The ranking, published on June 8, placed the Black Stars\u2019 home shirt at the summit of the list ahead of Brazil, England,\u00a0Germany\u00a0and Morocco, which completed the top five positions.\u00a0<\/p>\n

According to the publication, Ghana\u2019s jersey stood out for its unique design and incorporation of elements of the country\u2019s cultural identity, making it one of the most distinctive shirts among the competing nations.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The shirt features patterns inspired by traditional Ghanaian artistry and symbolism, reflecting the country\u2019s rich heritage while\u00a0maintaining\u00a0a modern appearance.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Several African nations also featured prominently on the list, with Morocco placing fifth, C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire 14th, South Africa 19th, DR Congo 23rd and Senegal 32nd.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The ranking highlights the growing importance of football kits as symbols of national identity and culture, with countries increasingly using their designs to\u00a0showcase\u00a0their heritage on the global stage.\u00a0<\/p>\n

While the assessment was based on aesthetics rather than football performance, Ghana\u2019s top ranking offers another positive spotlight for the Black Stars as they prepare for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.\u00a0<\/p>\n
