Dad\u2019s Army defeated Ashanti Royals 10\u20136 and a half in an entertaining final to lift the 2025 French Ambassador Cup at the Accra Polo Club.<\/p>\n

The fast-paced encounter saw both sides score early, but Dad\u2019s Army\u2019s experience and sharp finishing made the difference as they took control in the later stages.<\/p>\n

Their dominance in attack, coupled with resolute defensive play, ensured Ashanti Royals were kept at bay despite a spirited challenge.<\/p>\n

The victory sealed a memorable return for the tournament, which had been on hiatus for several years. <\/p>\n

The event, jointly organised by the French Embassy and the Accra Polo Club, is aimed at strengthening cultural and business ties between Ghana and France.<\/p>\n

President of the Leukemia Project Foundation and Social Committee Chairman of the Accra Polo Club, G\u00e9rard Hillary Osei Boakye, explained the motivation behind the revival.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe French Embassy and the Accra Polo Club decided to bring it back just to renew the cultural commitment and exchange with France,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou saw the representatives of the French Ambassador presenting the trophies to the winners, alongside French businesses networking and building connections.\u201d<\/p>\n

Boakye also stressed the importance of the competition in promoting the sport locally.<\/p>\n

\u201cPolo is very important for the players. It helps showcase their skills. People have trained, perfected their art, and this is how we attract society to come and watch,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

French Embassy Economic Counsellor, Julien Frioux, expressed delight at the tournament\u2019s return.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m very glad it\u2019s back. It\u2019s a professionally organised event with a lot of effort behind it. I\u2019m also happy it\u2019s linked with France, because it\u2019s the French Ambassador Cup. It\u2019s a relevant and original idea to strengthen French and Ghanaian ties through sport, while also promoting French culture and cuisine.\u201d<\/p>\n

For Dad\u2019s Army, the win adds to their growing list of titles at the Accra Polo Club, while fans will hope the Cup remains a fixture on Ghana\u2019s sporting calendar.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
