In a proactive move to ensure transparency and fairness in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primary, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, a contender for the party\u2019s flagbearer position, has established an Anti-Election Rigging Response Squad. <\/p>\n

This initiative comes amid growing concerns about potential manipulation of the electoral process, with Mr Agyapong\u2019s campaign team alleging that there are plans to favour a specific candidate.<\/p>\n

The campaign team has voiced its alarm over potential irregularities, citing warnings from various prophets who have predicted that Mr Agyapong would emerge victorious if the elections are conducted fairly. <\/p>\n

\u201cSome prophets have indicated to us that if the election is conducted in a free and fair manner, Ken Ohene Agyapong will emerge the winner, but they caution us to put in place strict measures to stop any rigging,\u201d a spokesperson for the campaign stated.<\/p>\n

Joojo Rocky Obeng, the Director of Elections for the Kennedy Agyapong Campaign Team, elaborated on the Anti-Rigging Response Team\u2019s mandate, explaining that it will operate across all 276 constituencies in Ghana. <\/p>\n

The squad\u2019s primary objective is to safeguard the integrity of the voting process for Mr Agyapong. <\/p>\n

\u201cOur leader, Hon. Ken Ohene Agyapong, sent a strong signal to all stakeholders that no one should attempt rigging this election. We have set up this Response Team to enforce his command and desire for a free and fair election. So this is to ensure that nobody rigs the elections\u2014we mean nobody,\u201d Obeng asserted.<\/p>\n

This initiative underscores Agyapong\u2019s commitment to ensuring that the electoral process remains untainted. <\/p>\n

He added, \u201cIf this election is free and fair, Kennedy Agyapong will win, we know that, but to protect the integrity of the polls, we need to ensure that the right things are done.\u201d<\/p>\n

The NPP delegates are scheduled to cast their votes on January 31, 2026, to select a flagbearer who will lead the party into the 2028 general elections. <\/p>\n

With a competitive field of candidates, the stakes are high. Currently, five candidates are vying for the party\u2019s nomination:<\/p>\n
