From\u00a0energizing\u00a0audience with apt vocal interjections to brewing chants on stage for a memorable experience at concerts, few names resonate with as much originality, energy, influence, and authenticity as OgeeTheMC.\u00a0<\/p>\n

OgeeTheMC\u00a0didn\u2019t follow a path; he built one. In the early 2010s, the concept of a\u00a0\u2018Hypeman\u2019\u00a0in\u00a0the\u00a0Ghanaian music space was virtually non-existent. Artistes performed mostly solo, and the idea of a dedicated MC sharing the stage was met with\u00a0skepticism. But OgeeTheMC\u00a0saw something different. He envisioned a concept where the MC was just\u00a0not\u00a0an accessory but an amplifier of energy, and a bridge between the artiste and his\/ her audience.<\/p>\n

\u201cI started something that didn\u2019t exist here,\u201d he shared in a recent interview. \u201cPeople didn\u2019t understand it at first. They mocked it. But I knew what I was building.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

His idea was replicated at the Ghana Meets Naija concert, when Tiwa Savage performed with her own hypeman. That moment validated his vision and gave skeptics a clearer understanding of what he was about. Today, the craft he pioneered is embraced across the country, as he stands as a big inspiration to the MCs and hypemen in the business.<\/p>\n

Discovering Ebony Reigns<\/strong><\/p>\n

One of the most defining chapters in Ogee\u2019s journey was his early encounter with the late Ebony Reigns. Their first meeting was electric. At a club event where legendary music group VIP was promoting a project, Ogee noticed a young woman with undeniable charisma.<\/p>\n

\u201c<\/em>It<\/em>\u00a0felt like someone I already knew,\u201d he recalled.<\/em><\/p>\n

He believed in her before the world did, mentoring her through her early music steps. When she sent him her first songs, he called her within seconds, stunned by the raw power of her voice. His belief in her talent was unwavering.<\/p>\n

OgeeTheMC\u2019s partnership with Reggae, Afro-Dancehall pioneer Stonebwoy, has produced one of the most iconic\u00a0\u2018duo\u2019\u00a0in African music. From local stages to international arenas like London\u2019s O2 Shepherd\u2019s Bush Empire, Reggae Geel, Afro Nation, Electric Brixton, Ogee has added a refreshing touch to Stonebwoy\u2019s performances. Their synergy is electric, proof that the right voice can amplify greatness.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0<\/strong>Poetic Prelude<\/strong><\/p>\n

At the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards\u00a0(TGMA), OgeeTheMC\u00a0delivered one of the most unforgettable moments of the night. Before Stonebwoy\u2019s performance, he stepped into the spotlight\u2014alone, dressed in black\u2014and offered a poetic recital that left the audience in awe of reverence for the act yet to be witnessed.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cA reigning king for over a decade, decade in the game, and he\u2019s still loud around the world like a new sound, sound so good even the blind can easily spot him, cos he\u2019s HIM<\/em><\/p>\n

Ghana, Accra, ladies and gentlemen, I go by the name OgeeTheMc get up on your feet for the reigning artist of the year 1GAD\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

His entry performance at the TGMA wasn\u2019t just hype\u2014it was a spiritual prelude. His words honoured and re-echoed the trajectory of Stonebwoy\u2019s journey on the Ghanaian music scene; from the streets of Ashaiman to the world stage.\u00a0When Stonebwoy emerged\u00a0on the TGMA stage, the transition from his spoken word to the live music performance was seamless. It was pure art.<\/p>\n

T<\/strong>he Torcher EP<\/strong>\u00a0Intro<\/strong><\/p>\n

Lyrically, OgeeTheMC laid his fingerprints on the much talked about \u201cTorcher EP\u201d from Stonebwoy. He graced this masterpiece with a befitting introduction (intro)\u00a0to the EP, adding depth, soul, and the art of storytelling to Stonebwoy\u2019s signature sound. This feat earned him a spot on Apple Music\u2019s top 20 songs, the first ever MC from the Ghanaian music scene to earn this enviable accolade.<\/p>\n

OgeeTheMC\u00a0isn\u2019t just focused on the spotlight; he\u2019s advocating for structural change. In multiple interviews, he\u00a0has\u00a0called for major events in Ghana to expand beyond Accra.\u00a0He believes\u00a0decentralizingevents will unlock talent in places across the regions, giving artistes the visibility they deserve.<\/p>\n

With his upcoming workshop dubbed\u00a0\u2018The M<\/em>C<\/em>s\u00a0<\/em>Workshop<\/em>\u2018<\/em>, OgeeTheMC has expressed his willingness to empower the youth with the requisite skills in his field, to position them well enough to take up viable MC\/Hypeman jobs in the industry.<\/p>\n
