The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has reiterated the government\u2019s commitment to the welfare and protection of Ghanaian citizens living abroad, particularly those affected by recent displacement in Gbenyiri in the Savannah region.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the Government Accountability Series held in Accra on Monday, Mr Ablakwa emphasised that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, under the Mahama administration, remains resolute in its duty to all Ghanaians abroad.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy ministry remains steadfast in its commitment to protecting Ghanaian citizens abroad,\u201d he stated. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe will continue to work assiduously with the support of the appropriate Ghanaian authorities, as well as the Ivorian and Burkinabe authorities, to provide the necessary assistance to our displaced compatriots.\u201d<\/p>\n

He assured the public that no Ghanaian in distress, regardless of their location, would be overlooked by the current administration.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo Ghanaian in distress, anywhere in the world, will be ignored by the Mahama administration,\u201d he affirmed.<\/p>\n

The Minister also extended heartfelt gratitude to the governments and peoples of C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire and Burkina Faso for their cooperation and humanitarian support during this period. <\/p>\n

He used the opportunity to advocate for greater regional solidarity.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis episode reminds us to always be embracing and welcoming of our African compatriots,\u201d he remarked.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
