Member of Parliament for Kumawu, Ernest Anim, has declared his full support for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as the New Patriotic Party\u2019s (NPP) flagbearer for the 2028 elections.<\/p>\n

Speaking at Effiduase in the Ashanti Region on Thursday, Mr Anim said research indicated that the party\u2019s defeat in the 2024 elections was due to internal challenges rather than its presidential candidate.<\/p>\n

He argued that Dr Bawumia, having gained nationwide recognition and experience, deserved another chance to lead the NPP to victory.<\/p>\n

\u201cEach of us bears some responsibility for our loss in 2024, from how we relate to each other to the policies of our government. All of us know this,\u201d Mr Anim stated.<\/p>\n

He urged party members to put aside blame and focus on rebuilding unity. \u201cHowever, this is not the time to lament and apportion blame. This is the time to preach unity, come together, and put our best foot forward to secure victory,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Highlighting Dr. Bawumia\u2019s popularity, Mr. Anim stressed: \u201cWe don\u2019t know who the other party will bring. But we have a tried, tested, and battle-hardened candidate who represented us in the last election. Every village and house in Ghana has heard of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.\u201d<\/p>\n
