President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Okraku, has urged Premier League referees to maintain the highest standards of professionalism and integrity ahead of the start of the new season. <\/p>\n

The new Ghana Premier League campaign gets underway on Friday, September 12, with Hearts of Oak taking on Hohoe United. <\/p>\n

His remarks to the referees came during a virtual meeting with match officials, which was also attended by Executive Council Member and Chairman of the Referees Assessors and Classification Panel, Frederick Acheampong, Referees Manager Alex Kotey and Chairperson of the Referees Committee, Christine Enyonam Zigah.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet me be clear and without any form of ambiguity. I will not stand in the way of justice if any of you engage in unprofessional or unethical conduct,\u201d he said as quoted by ghanafa.org. <\/p>\n

\u201cOne of the key demands is integrity, and we will not compromise on anything that threatens the momentum, energy and gains made ahead of the new campaign.\u201d<\/p>\n

He also used the opportunity to encourage referees to prepare thoroughly and deliver performances \u201cto the satisfaction and admiration of all stakeholders,\u201d adding that their cooperation is vital to achieving \u201cthe best Premier League season ever.\u201d<\/p>\n

He stressed that with improved financial conditions and welfare packages in place, referees are expected to be steadfast and beyond reproach, adding, \u201cI am very expectant ahead of the best Premier League ever. With your full cooperation, we can deliver top-level performances free of needless controversies.\u201d<\/p>\n

The GFA, prior to the new season, has introduced a comprehensive package to enhance referees\u2019 welfare and working conditions across the Premier League (GPL), Access Bank Division One League (DoL) and the Malta Guinness Women\u2019s Premier League (WPL) for the 2025\/26 season.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
