Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has assured displaced Ghanaians affected by recent communal conflicts that every effort is being made to ensure their welfare and safe return home.<\/p>\n

While on official duties in Ethiopia, Mr. Ablakwa held separate telephone discussions with the Foreign Ministers of Burkina Faso and C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire, both of whom pledged their governments\u2019 continued support for the affected Ghanaians.<\/p>\n

He expressed gratitude to Burkina Faso\u2019s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Karamoko Jean-Marie Traor\u00e9, and C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire\u2019s Foreign Minister, Kacou Houadja L\u00e9on Adom, describing their support as \u201ctrue Pan-African solidarity.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOur neighbours have demonstrated admirable belief in the ECOWAS spirit of free movement and genuine brotherhood. They have warmly hosted our compatriots in their moment of need,\u201d the Minister said.<\/p>\n

The discussions produced an actionable roadmap to safeguard the welfare of the displaced citizens, including urgent meetings between Ghana\u2019s embassy officials and the respective foreign ministries to explore additional support measures. Preparations are also underway for Ablakwa\u2019s working visit to both countries to meet and assist the Ghanaians directly.<\/p>\n

He assured that the Mahama-led government remains committed to the safety of every Ghanaian. \u201cThe administration will continue to care for all Ghanaians, and no one will be left behind,\u201d he emphasised.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, both Burkina Faso and C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire have pledged to facilitate the minister\u2019s visit and support his delegation in providing further assistance to the affected citizens.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
