Member of Parliament for Evalue-Ajomoro-Gwira, Kofi Arko Nokoe, has called for urgent national commitment to the Petroleum Hub Project, describing it as a potential \u201cgame-changer\u201d for Ghana\u2019s economy.<\/p>\n

The MP joined the Petroleum Hub Development Corporation (PHDC) on an investment tour of Asia, where they courted potential investors and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Surbana Jurong, the developers behind Singapore\u2019s world-renowned Jurong Island.<\/p>\n

During the visit, the delegation toured Singapore\u2019s integrated hub facilities and Malaysia\u2019s Pengerang Integrated Complex in Johor.<\/p>\n

They also held discussions with the University of Technology Petronas on training opportunities for Ghanaian professionals.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile bricks and mortar build facilities, it is skilled people who sustain them,\u201d Mr Nokoe stressed, highlighting the importance of human capacity development alongside infrastructure.<\/p>\n

The MP underscored the urgency of the project, noting that Africa\u2019s refining capacity lags significantly behind demand.<\/p>\n

\u201cWest Africa consumes over 45 million metric tonnes of petroleum products annually, yet refineries on the continent process only a fraction of that. Ghana, with its stability and strategic coastal location, is uniquely positioned to bridge this gap,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He added that investor interest from Asia was \u201cstrong and promising.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hon. Nokoe called for discipline and unity in pursuing the initiative, warning that the global energy transition leaves little time for hesitation.<\/p>\n

\u201cSingapore and Malaysia did not achieve their successes by chance. They united behind clear goals and created frameworks for private capital and skills to thrive. Ghana must do the same\u2014quickly,\u201d he urged.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Petroleum Hub is not just an energy project; it is a national legacy in the making.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
