Queen Mother, Awo Yaa Manubea I, who doubles as Mawerehemaa of Kyekyewere, on Wednesday, September 25, celebrated her colourful birthday with inmates of the Seek Life Foundation Charity Home, a local orphanage at Kyekyewere in the Ayensuano District of the Eastern region.<\/p>\n

Instead of hosting a grand birthday party at her residence for family and friends, she chose to spend the day with the inmates of the Seek Life Orphanage.<\/p>\n

She arrived at the facility in the company of her husband, Mr Gideon Okai, and other family members, carrying gifts with warm smiles, eager to bring joy to the children.<\/p>\n

The queen mother spent the day engaging with the children, listening to their stories, and sharing words of wisdom and hope, creating a memorable experience for both herself and the inmates.<\/p>\n

She gave them gifts and assorted drinks, and an undisclosed amount, which brought excitement to the children.<\/p>\n

The highlight of the event was a special hot meal prepared by the queen mother herself, featuring traditional Ghanaian dishes including jollof rice, chicken, and spring rolls, which she served to the children along with biscuits and drinks.<\/p>\n

Executing the gesture, Queen Mother Awo Yaa Manubea not only brought happiness to the children but also demonstrated her commitment to giving back to the community.<\/p>\n

\u00a0Awo Yaa Manubea\u2019s visit to the orphanage, beyond the immediate joy and happiness, gave hope to the inmates as part of her philanthropic mission.<\/p>\n

Before the event, Awo Yaa Manubea paid a courtesy call on the\u00a0Paramount Chief of Kyekyewere, Barima Okunini Gyebi Kwame Ababio II in his palace.<\/p>\n

Speaking to journalists after the programme, Awo Yaa said that since she was enstooled a year ago, she started a campaign to raise funds to provide sanitary pads for girls in her community.<\/p>\n

Awo Yaa promised to start another initiative to raise awareness about the orphanages in Ghana.<\/p>\n

According to her, she has not visited an orphanage before, so this year, she decided to visit Seek Life Orphanage for the first time to have firsthand information to see how she can help them.<\/p>\n

She said the children need help because they don\u2019t have parents.<\/p>\n

Advising the children, Awo Yaa Manubea emphasised the importance of humility and obedience as essential values for their development.<\/p>\n

By instilling these principles, she aims to guide them toward becoming responsible adults.<\/p>\n

She called on the government and individuals to support the Support Seek Life Orphanage, highlighting the need for more resources and assistance.<\/p>\n

The Queen Mother pledged her continuous support for the Seek Life Foundation Orphanage by collecting and shipping clothes to Ghana for the children.<\/p>\n

Barima Okunini Gyebi Kwame Ababio II, the Paramount Chief of Kyekyewere, commended Queen Mother Awo Yaa Manubea for her selfless act, demonstrating her commitment to the community\u2019s well-being.<\/p>\n

The founder of the Seek Life Foundation Charity Home, Apostle Eric Amoo, thanked the Queen Mother for the gesture.<\/p>\n

Apostle Eric Amoo said, apart from taking care of the inmates, the foundation runs a vocational training school that provides skilled training for the inmates and the youths from the area.<\/p>\n

He therefore appealed to the government, corporate bodies, individuals, philanthropists, and Non-Governmental Organisations for the aid of the foundation<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
