The Ashanti Regional Police Command has announced the conviction of three Nigerian nationals for their involvement in vehicle theft activities within the Kumasi Metropolis.<\/p>\n

Francis Friday, Linus Agwazie, and Russell Ekenze were arrested on 20 June 2025 and later arraigned before various circuit courts in Kumasi. <\/p>\n

Ekenze pleaded guilty on his first appearance at the Atasemanso Circuit Court and was sentenced to 10 years\u2019 imprisonment with hard labour. <\/p>\n

Friday and Agwazie, who initially pleaded not guilty, were subsequently found guilty at Circuit Court 3 and each handed an 8-year sentence on two counts, to run concurrently.<\/p>\n

Further proceedings at Circuit Court 1 saw all three receive additional 20-year concurrent sentences on two counts, while Ekenze was again convicted at Circuit Court 2 and given an extra 10-year concurrent term. <\/p>\n

The convicts are currently serving their sentences at Kumasi Central Prison.<\/p>\n

Police say the successful prosecution highlights their commitment to tackling organised and transnational crime. <\/p>\n

They also called on the public to support crime prevention efforts by promptly reporting suspicious activities.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
