The Ghana Education Service (GES) has reacted to reports of alleged widespread malpractice in the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), vowing a full-scale investigation to protect the integrity of the education system.<\/p>\n

In a statement issued today and signed by the Head of Public Relations, Daniel Fenyi, the GES said it has taken note of a JoyNews TV report suggesting that some schools may have engaged in organised cheating during the nationwide exams.<\/p>\n

\u201cManagement wishes to assure the public that a copy of the full documentary with the original transcripts will be obtained and scrutinised immediately, after which a full-scale investigation will be conducted into the allegations,\u201d the statement read.<\/p>\n

The Service condemned exam malpractice in the strongest terms, warning that it undermines meritocracy and produces graduates \u201cwho lack the competencies required for national development.\u201d<\/p>\n

Backed by Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu and the GES Council, the Service pledged to punish any teaching or non-teaching staff implicated in aiding or abetting the malpractice. <\/p>\n

\u201cSuch persons, if found guilty, will face severe disciplinary action in accordance with the law and established Service regulations,\u201d the statement stressed.<\/p>\n

The GES further assured that it would work closely with WAEC, National Security, and law enforcement agencies to stamp out what it called a \u201cmenace\u201d threatening the credibility of Ghana\u2019s examinations.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
